A family while you're away

Napa Dog Sitting is a simple operation. While you are gone we take your furry family member and make them part of ours. We are not a boarding facility with hordes of dogs, nor do we hold dogs in crates or yards. When your dog is with us they're in the most comfortable possible setting with true dog professionals who know what dogs need and love. Read more about us.

Rates & requirements

$95/night
Sit fee covers 24 hour blocks. Starts and ends must be inside 9am-5pm
Additional 50% for additional dogs of same household
Additional $25 for any holiday besides Tgiving, Xmas, NYE
Additional $50 for Tgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, NYE
Additional charges if a sit is extended over 24 hr block
Additional transport fees where applicable, discussed in quote
Additional fee for food runs if you didn't pack enough

At this time, we only offer boarding at our house.

All dogs must

be good with babies and toddlers
not have separation anxiety
not bark incessantly at outside stimuli
be potty trained.
be comfortable sleeping outside the bedrooms

We are David and Kalyn

We met working in dog care in SF, and have since moved to Napa. Kalyn is now a practicing therapist who works from home. David is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), one of only roughly 4,500 in the world to hold the title, as well as the owner of Citizen Hound in SF, an award winning and highly lauded dog walking, training, and sitting operation. For years we've only sat for Citizen Hound clients, but being this far north now, we have decided to host a dog sitting operation based where we live.

While you're gone

While you're gone we'll bring your dog into our family. We'll give them at least 2 daily walks, long trail hikes on the weekends, outings with Citizen Hound in SF when available and permitted, restaurant forays, and other adventures. Kalyn works from home every day, and David often does as well, giving your dog the comfort of someone nearby consistently.

Your dog will have access to the whole house and a large backyard for them to hang in or play. We have friend's dogs to play with, and where permitted we might sit a second dog at the same time adding companionship. We'll cuddle the heck out of them! Your dog is sure to have an excellent time, and ideally feel excited about returning anytime you need! If you need overnight dog care in Napa, this is surely as personalized and comfortable as it gets.
